a journey of finding myself 

I look for myself in music, in movies

I look for myself in the seaside sunset

I look for myself in your eyes 

I look for myself in art. 

But where am I?

I need something stronger than a mirror 

To understand the real me within

I’m right here, all the time. But sometimes I’m so distracted and I’m pulled away from myself 

So I’m searching for me 

Although I might never fully meet her

Sometimes I feel so close

when I write in my journal, I talk to her

when I draw in my sketchbook, I look a little closer 

I sing a song in the moment, I can hear her

I dance alone knowing her energy is abundant 

when I meditate, I feel like I’m right with her

she’s holding me tight, a never ending hug

she guides me in beautiful and mysterious ways, and I can trust her with every judgement 

slow brush of the water

combing through the pebbles

blinding white twinkles

blue wrinkly ripples 

advancing gently to the land

hard rocks become soft sand

Who are you

Your breaths in and out 

Eyes blinking and staring 

Mind running like a machine

Responding to all that you perceive 

Everything as it is 

As it was

As it will be 

Who are you

Inside and out 

Let the inside out 

And then maybe I can meet you
